“WE DON’T BUY THINGS WITH MONEY, WE BUY THEM WITH HOURS FROM OUR LIVES.”
To me, minimalism is a life saver. Coming from a middle income near poor family is kind of hard when you love fashion and clothes like me. I always wanted to buy new things and every single fashionable trend I found celebrity are wearing and cheap things never fulfilled the trick with me. So, my siblings always bought me new items and got me a closet any girl could dream of, you would think that my problem is now finished, I am happy now because I have a lot of fashionable items, but no, it wasn’t the case for me. I started developing anxiety on what I should wear. I would sit and think for hours and hours what I should wear every day. It kept me awake at night to decide what to wear from my massive closet. My mom and sister told me over and over again that I should stop overthinking and that I am not a celebrity and no one cares about how I look. But I didn’t listen to them and reached a very dark time that I would cry if I don’t have a specific trend and think that no one is going to love me now. It was ridiculous, who would really care about my clothes and how many items I do have and wear. Why would this become the biggest problem I have in life. I stopped for a moment and started thinking that I should start to develop a new mindset.
Then I found out about minimalism and that is when I found my cure. Now I don’t really care how many items I do have. I just choose my outfits carefully to fully suit my body type and my social life and the place I am visiting and that is it. I am done. No more anxiety, no more throwing money to the garbage can because I bought something that cost a lot of money and the trend just flew out of the corner before I can blink.
So I have the developed my own pattern of minimalism, I think that this is a true minimalism, you choose what suits you. So my pattern is that I will only wear, black, white and denim. I might use different colors in my POLYVORE sets, but in real life that is what I love to wear. That helped me a great deal because I don’t have this big closet because most of my items suit each other and can be worn in lots of different ways for different occasions and places. I also decided that I would share this with you. Instead of doing completely different outfits with different items, I would show you how to style different outfits with the same item, like normal people does and maybe this will inspire you to shop smart.
In this post, I styled the same shoes, sandals. It is from Egypt, not a brand or anything, Love it to the core, but it is absolutely a pain in the feet. Other than this, I think they really look so pretty.
In the first outfit, I styled it for a night out with my friends with a jeans and leather jacket and a tank top. I even added my old glasses to the game to add a little bit of a nerd vibe to this cool look.
The second outfit is the perfect outfit for a date. I will add a stocking underneath this dress, but other than this, I wouldn’t change a thing. Cool, feminine and classic black and white.
The third outfit is an occasion style outfit. With a black slip dress and that is it. Very simple and very feminine.
Did you like how I styled the same shoes with these outfits? If yes, please make sure to follow me on my social media to see how I style the same outfit with different styles. Also, tell me which outfit is your favorite in the comment down below.
